Iran pays tribute to demised artists

Tehran Municipality and Iranian Artists Forum have held memorial ceremony for Iranian artists who demised during the past Persian year.

The memorial ceremony was held to pay tribute to 110 Iranian artists who passed away in 1396.

Among the late artists were names like Ali Moallem, Homayoun Shahnavaz and Levon Haftvon.

Ali Moallem was a renowned Iranian director, writer, critique, producer and a TV presenter. He passed on March 13, 2017.

A director who will always be remembered by his masterpiece 'Braves of Tangestan', Homayoun Shahnavaz departed this earthly life only some days ago in March 2018.

While his last cinematic work 'Kupal' is still bagging awards at different film festivals, Levon Haftvon deceased on March 10, 2018, due to a heart attack.

A big number of Iranian artists from various artistic fields attended the ceremony.

This year, it was the sixth edition of the memorial ceremony to take place.
